Do Mormons use the sun, moon, and stars as key symbols in the temple?

0

As my brother wrote, the Sun, Moon, and stars are used to symbolically represent the three degrees of glory that we may obtain after the final judgement. As such, they have sometimes been used as exterior decorations on our temples. However, I would not call them key symbols. They are not mentioned at all in the temple ceremonies except in the context of God having created them along with everything else. Likewise, we don’t even revere them as holy symbols. (They don’t have the significance to us that the various forms of the cross have to mainstream Christianity.) So, the Sun, Moon, and stars are not a significant symbol to us beyond their usefulness in expressing differences in potential glory.
