Did Missouri deserve to be left out of the BCS?
A travesty has been committed once again pertaining to the BCS. The 7th ranked Missouri Tigers, after losing to Oklahoma (35-18) have been edged out of the BCS bowl games, and will now have to play the 25th ranked Arkansas Razorbacks in the Cotton Bowl. Although Missouri had an excellent 11-2 season, and very well deserve a BCS bowl berth over some ranked teams, the fact of the matter is that they are being left out. The 11-1 (8th) Kansas Jayhawks and the 11-2 (4th) Oklahoma Sooners represent the big 12 in the BCS bowl games. Even 13th-ranked Illinois — received a bid to the more preferred BCS. Of course this is extremely unfair to the Tigers, and shows a multitude of infrastructure problems in the BCS.
