Can we keep images and metadata on our local CONTENTdm server and just provide our users a link to the CARLI Digital Collections?

Yes. However, to provide the best service to patrons, we would like to eventually use Multi-Site Server to harvest as much metadata as possible from CARLI members running their own CONTENTdm servers so that users can search all collections in the consortium in a single search.
