Can the Novak 6.5 use LIPO packs?
Yes the GTB/6.5 can run on LiPo. Either system will be great for you, possibly for different reasons. The Novak will be silky smooth and fast. The 5700 will be plenty smooth (maybe slight cogging/hesitation on slow startups but this isn’t a big deal when bashing, or even racing) and probably about the same speed on 6 cell NiMH or 2s LiPo. The main thing about the Mamba Max is that you can run 3s LiPo (or a bunch of NiMH cells) on it, which would make it much more powerful and faster than the Novak. For such a light (and smallish) vehicle like the B44, I’m not sure there would be a real benefit to strapping such huge voltage on board…but if you want to go 60 mph then knock yourself out. Also, the Mamba Max ESC is programmable via PC, so you have more control over the throttle profile. The Novak is more “plug and play,” though it does have a few different settings you can select.
