Can students choose their own roommates?
Students can request a particular roommate when they complete their housing contracts. We generally can match mutually requested roommates provided information is received by early July. Ohio State offers housing arrangements for students with particular academic or career interests. For example, we offer unique living-learning programs in which students with similar academic goals, lifestyles, or cultural interests share accommodations. Women in Engineering, the Mount Leadership Society, and International House are just a few of the programs available. Students should indicate their preferences for roommates, visitation patterns, and special program requests on their housing contracts.
