Here are a few things you will probably need to do. First, make sure you have a plentiful supply of trash bags or a large trash can handy as you clean. 1. Start with superficial things which tend to clutter living areas and bedrooms – things like old magazines, newpapers, bills and other paper items you no longer have an interest in. Make sure you look under furniture as well. We all know that things can creep under sofas, tables and chairs with time. Toss those items you don’t need and start a filing system to store paperwork you do need to keep. I recommend you buy a small filing cabinet or box for that. 2. Straighten, rearrange, dust, vacuum, and clean furniture. Spot clean or machine clean cloth upholstery to improve their appearance. Carpet and upholstery cleaners can be rented from home improvement centers, etc. for that purpose.
