Can rats eat pistachios?

As long as the pistachios aren’t salted, in moderation they should be fine. The only problem with nuts is that they are high in protein which can cause skin problem for rats when they ingest too much. As treats, they are wonderful for their teeth and are tasty, and of course they enjoy the challenge. At the supermarket there can be bags of variety nuts that have been toasted and unsalted, and I usually choose these as treats. Most things in moderation are alright for rats, except things that common sense tells you shouldn’t give them.
