The current U-verse Set Top Boxes (STB) disable ALL of the other video outputs (analog) when the HDMI output is in use. You can use all of the analog video outputs at the same time, for example, Component and S-Video as long as the digital HDMI output is not used. One interesting work around that’s been suggested is to feed HDMI to your A/V receiver and use it to pass along the HDMI while duplicating the HDMI content on the analog video outputs (Component, S-Video, etc.) of the A/V receiver.
