If the amp is designed for a 6 or 8 ohm speaker, well then you can bet you pants is will destroy your receiver faster then a Norwegian can buy ski boots.

I’ve been using a 3 ohm load on mine for 6 years now and it has been working fine. 4 ohm won’t hurt it, as long as you don’t blast the amplifier to its max, especially clip it. Make sure it’s well ventilated too, as less ohms is more power which is more heat ( in 99% of cases). Just keep at at a reasonable volume, nothing really loud and you’ll be just fine.
