Yes, although this is a debated issue in some Protestant circles. Some think once a person has genuinely committed himself or herself to the Lord that commitment cannot be revoked. Even if outwardly a Christian abandons all forms of Christian identity (prayer, sharing God’s love, bible reading, attending community worship, etc.) and takes up a new identity (including harmful habits), some Christians believe that the soul is safe notwithstanding and will be brought into the kingdom. Once in grace a Christian is always in grace. The Wesleyan understanding of Scripture, with the mainstream of Christian thought, does not agree with this interpretation of other brothers and sisters. We believe grace is experienced by those who yearn for God. We turn to God and He, in a sense, turns to us (although God is always seeking us). We believe the Scriptures teach that a person who loves God can spurn that love to the point of rejecting it entirely. This is not done easily because the Holy Spirit is
