Can Carlito Be Champ?
You know, a few weeks ago I would have said no chance in hell. Carlito was shoved out of the spotlight on Raw a long time ago, mostly due to a pretty unsuccessful face turn. However, now’s he heel again, and the WWE is actually doing stuff with Caribbean Cool. He got to fight John Cena, partner with Randy Orton, and is now going to be fighting for the Intercontinental Championship this Sunday at SummerSlam. Carlito actually seems important again. I know Carlito has a lot of detractors, but I’ve always seen some potential in him. Sure, he’s never put on a 5 star match, but he has a decent move-set (although some of his springboards look a little awkward) and looks comfortable in the ring. Other wrestlers have certainly accomplished more with fewer tools than Carlito has. I can’t help but think that the WWE wasted something that could have been special when they had Cena beat Carlito at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
