Can books be renewed?
Books, Books on Tape and Books on CD may be renewed for one additional loan period, if they have not been reserved by another patron. Renewals of Boonton Public Library books can be done by phone. Please have the book or audio materials handy so you can tell us the bar code number. This number identifies the item. In a book it is usually found inside the front cover. For other materials, look inside the case or on the cover. The number on all items begins with 01001. (To renew books from libraries other than the Boonton Public Library, please call that library directly.
Most items can be renewed, but it is up to the library that loaned the book to us. ILLiad: ILLiad books from non-CLIC libraries (identified by the white strip around the front cover) can be renewed if allowed by the lending library. Every library sets their own policy regarding renewals and loan periods of the books they lend. Some ILLiad books come to us pre-identified as “NO RENEWALS,” and we pass that information on to you in the pickup email we send you and also on the white strip that we attach to the front cover of the book. You can ask for renewals online in your ILLiad account, if you request the renewal within a week before and after the due date. Otherwise, please call the Interlibrary Loan Office at 651-962-5405 (Faith) or 651-962-5409 (JoAnn) to ask if an extension is possible.
