Can any tape be copied?

0

No. Certain tapes have copy protection safeguards that will not allow it. Sometimes tapes can degrade or be too far damaged to the point where a useable copy can not be made. Back to FAQ list I was told my tapes cant be transferred because of alignment problems. This is a very common problem for many 8mm tapes that were recorded using older Sony brand camcorders and/or tapes that have been recorded in longer tape speeds like EP and LP. Most transfer facilities do not have the expertise needed in order to make useable copies of these tapes. A playback machine must be purposefully mis-aligned in order to play back these tapes. Professional Video Services has a set up charge of $30.00 to do these type tapes. Its still possible to have some occasional flutter or “jumpiness” in the final product, but it will be significantly, if not entirely removed.
