Can a purchase contract be signed on an affordable home before someone has completed the application process for the Community Housing Program?
No. A homebuyer must complete the application process and receive a Certificate of Eligibility from the City before a purchase contract can be signed on an affordable home. A contract signed before a Certificate of Eligibility has been issued will be found invalid by the City of Longmont. This is to help ensure that affordable homes are available for those households who have been determined eligible for the program.
