>Is it possible to convert a digibox to 12V. I want a satellite system in my >motorcaravan and want to avoid having to use an inverter (i.e. 12VDC:240VAC) >which is not that efficient. The 12V is supplied by two 110AH leisure >batteries. > >Basically what I need to know is whether the transformer in the digibox >steps the voltage down to 12VDC. If not, its probably a waste of time and I >may as well use an inverter. No Digital receiver uses a transformer in the normal sense. They all use a switch mode power supply to provide (usually) 3.3v, 5v, 12v, 13v, 18v and 30v. The 12 volt inverters that we sell are at least 80% efficient. You aren’t going to get better than that.
