Both are supported by a vast array of set-top boxes but Microsoft somehow wishes to remain inferior by not providing an avi format used across multiple platforms?
AVI formats are used across the internet, on cellphones, digicams and video camera for home movies and yes, unfortunately for pirating media. But to completely ignore the customer demand for AVI codec support is a slap in the face. We’re simply given a “no”. We’re a reasonable group…for the most part. We’re not expecting to know the detailed ins and outs behind Microsoft policy, but some basic understanding as to why Microsoft feels the need to shaft the AVI users would be nice. Alas, I’m stuck using my modded Xbox 1 with XBox Media Center to play my DivX’d home movies. If only I could put that workhorse to rest….
