BME at NJIT does not appear in the published lists of the top 10 undergraduate programs. Is that a concern?
All of the top ten programs are excellent, however that does not mean that NJIT’s Department of Biomedical Engineering does less for its students. Such lists are based largely on subjective impressions of a program by people across the nation. These impressions are often influenced by the amount of research money, the accomplishments of graduates, and other factors that favor older, more established departments. As a new department, we ask students to consider the opportunities we offer them individually and make their decision not entirely on national reputation.
