TopWe aresoglad you asked this!63% of the U.S. Internet users (or approximately 109 million people) performed a local search online in July of 2006, a 43% increase vs. July of 2005. 30% of local searches in July were conducted through Google sites, followed by Yahoo! (29%), Microsoft (12%) and Time Warner (7%). City Directory On Line has targeted Google as the search engine with which to have great rankings. As of March 2008, City Directory On Line is in the # 5 position in a search for ‘city directory online’ with nearly 16 million search results. Nearly 60% of searchers are looking for a restaurant or something entertainment related, such as theater, theme park or attraction for sightseeing. 52% were searching specifically for a business phone number or address. 41% were looking for information on a local service in their home area including car rentals, dry cleaners or lawyers.
