Are tummy tucks painful?
Abdominoplasties are very well tolerated by patients. The majority of patients do not need anything other than pain medications for the first few days after surgery. However, if you have a very low pain tolerance and are anxious about the pain control a pain pump can be used for the first 3-5 days after the surgery. A pain pump continually infuses local anesthesia into the breast wound and helps numb the area during your recovery period.
