Are There Really UFOs?
UFOs, or Unidentified Flying Objects, definitely do exist. That is, objects in the sky or objects landing from the sky have been reported by highly trustworthy people. Some of these people have even photographed them. But only some of these objects have been identified. Each year, the U.S. government receives hundreds of reports
First, the definition – Unidentified Flying Object. Here we can make a distinction and define UFO in four separate categories: 1. Those which occur naturally. 2. Those which are man-made. 3. Those which are supernatural (such as angels), and… 4. Those which most people think of when they hear the term – intelligent life from another planet. Now let’s take a look at the issue from a Biblical standpoint – that is, I’m already assuming the Bible is the true revelation of God to man (because it is!) There’s no doubt there are UFOs of the first category – natural and man-made. When something flies overhead and we don’t know what it is, by definition it is a UFO. In addition to the natural and man-made UFO, there really may be some that are visible manifestations from the spirit-world. As we can’t disprove this, we can at least assume it’s a possibility. Unidentified Flying Objects: Yes. Alien spaceships: 99.99999% likely not. Think about it this way. As an intelligent race, humans are constantly trying to get in touch with whoever else might be ‘out there’. If there was another intelligent race, with technology capable of flying to our planet, they would also want to contact us. Seeing as they haven’t contacted us, that means one of the following must be true: 1) They’re hostile, and they’re avoiding contact with us because they want to kill us. 2) They think we’re hostile, and they’re avoiding contact with us so we don’t kill them. 3) They don’t exist. Number 1 wouldn’t be true, because if their technology was advanced enough to get here, it’d be advanced enough to take us out straight away, so they wouldn’t need to spy on us and wait. Number 2 wouldn’t be true, because if their technology was advanced enough to get here, it’d be advanced enough to take us out, so they wouldn’t be afraid of us taking them out.
