hate to disagree with Tom but a hard plastic groin guard (or cup) is not allowed in rugby union… plainly because it is hard plastic and is considered a dangerous Item of clothing… It is covered in the first section of the law book… if you find a non-hard plastic cup it would be legal, but I have never heard of one… Tom is right in saying that it would be awful hard to run around in one of those things too…
