My OH recently bought a box set of the ‘Famous Five’ book for us to read to him at bedtime. My OH recently bought a box set of the ‘Famous Five’ book for us to read to our son at bedtime. I never read these sorts of books as a child, as I hated reading back then. So I thought I’d quickly read one to myself, curious to see what I’d missed out on. It was Five go Camping and the main theme in the book was about having an adventure on a railway line, walking through rail tunnels and climbing up & down railway tunnel air vents. It really surprised me how much time & safety has moved on since these types of books were written. Im making a mental note to have a little chat with my little man when reading this book about why it is not a good idea to go having adventures on rail lines!
