Weaves bond synthetic or natural hair to existing hair, increasing its length. This can be accomplished with heat or glue, both of which last only a few months and can cause significant damage if done improperly. Either method can also inhibit the growth of new hair. Braids cause less damage, but can still cause broken hair, rashes or even baldness if the hair is pulled too tightly.
