    Gingerbread Cookie Recipe
     
    Serves: 4 to 5
    Ingredients
     
    1 cup of Unsalted Butter
    3/4 cup of Dark Brown Sugar
    1/2 cup of Molasses
    1 Whole White Egg
    2 ½ cup of All Purpose Flour
    1 ½ teaspoon of Baking Soda
    1 teaspoon of Cinnamon Powder
    1 teaspoon of Clove Powder
    1 teaspoon of Nutmeg Powder
    1 tablespoon of Dry Ginger Powder
    1/2 teaspoon of Salt
     
    Icing
    3/4 cup of Confectioners Sugar
    Egg White of 1 Egg
    1 ½ teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
     
    Directions
    • Obtain one big mixing bowl and add soft unsalted butter in it.
    • Add dark brown sugar and beat it until it gets smooth.
    • Add molasses and again start the beating process for smooth texture.
    • Add whole white egg. Whisk it until blends well.
    • Put together all the dry ingredients in another mixing bowl.
    • Add all purpose flour, baking soda, cinnamon powder, clove powder, nutmeg powder, dry ginger powder, and salt. Mix all these ingredients together.
    • Add this dry mixture little by little in to the liquid mixture that has been already made with the help of butter, sugar, molasses, and egg.
    • Keep beating until this dry mixture gets smooth. Always make sure that there is no lump behind.
    • Preheat the oven at 365 degree F.
    • Keep the plastic wrap ready by cutting in two equal parts.
    • Get back to your dough and divide the dough in to two equal parts. Put it in a plastic wrap and try to seal it without letting any air getting in to the plastic wrap or gingerbread cookie dough.
    • Put it in a refrigerator for about three to four hours before using it. You can also keep it in refrigerator for about three to four days before using it.
    • After three to four hours, take it out and keep it at room temperature.
    • Spread some extra all purpose flour for dusting before rolling out the gingerbread cookie dough.
    • Sprinkle the all purpose flour not only on flat platform but also on rolling pin.
    • Get one of the gingerbread cookie dough out of the plastic wrap and start rolling out on the flat platform with the help of rolling pin.
    • You can decide how much thick or thin you want your gingerbread cookies. Otherwise, you can keep the thickness of about 1/4 or 1/8 inch.
    • Keep checking your gingerbread cookie dough; otherwise it might stick to the flat platform and rolling pin.
    • Use more all purpose flour if the gingerbread cookie dough is sticky.
    • Get the gingerbread cookie cutter to cut out the gingerbread man out of this cookie dough.
    • On the other hand, keep the baking tray ready before you start to cut out the gingerbread man.
    • Put a wax paper on baking tray, so that gingerbread man comes out without any problem.
    • When you start to cut out the gingerbread man, make sure to sprinkle some all purpose flour on the edges of the gingerbread cookie cutter. It would help in placing the gingerbread man on the baking tray very easily without breaking it.
    • Keep the distance of about one to two inches between each cookie.
    • Place the baking tray in to the preheated oven. Lower the temperature from 365 degree F to 350 degree F.
    • Bake it for about ten minutes.
    • Meanwhile, get one medium mixing bowl to prepare the icing for the gingerbread cookies.
    • Add confectioners’ sugar in a mixing bowl.
    • Add egg white of one egg as well as vanilla extract.
    • Beat this mixture until it gets fluffy and smooth.
    • The basic white icing is ready. Keep it in refrigerator before using it.
    • Get your gingerbread cookies out of the oven and let it cool on a cooling stand.
    • Don’t apply any icing when the gingerbread cookies are hot or warm. Let it cool before applying any icing.
    • Once the gingerbread cookies are cool enough, get your icing ready. Put your icing in one zip lock bag or in icing pipe.
    • If you are using zip lock bag then direct all the icing in one corner. Cut the mouth of the zip lock bag.
    • Start decorating your gingerbread man as you like.
    • You can be very creative with your gingerbread cookies decoration. You can add various food colors in your icing and give more color to your gingerbread cookie recipe.
    • Your gingerbread cookies are ready to serve. You can store it in a sealed container for further usage.
    Easy Gingerbread Cookies Recipe

    Ingredients
     
    1 cup of Unsalted Butter
    3/4 cup of Vanilla Pudding
    3/4 cup of White Sugar
    1 Whole White Egg
    2 ½ cup of All Purpose Flour
    1 tablespoon of Baking Powder
    1 ½ tablespoon of Dry Ginger Powder
    1 teaspoon of Cinnamon Powder
    1 teaspoon of Cardamom Powder
    1 teaspoon of Black Pepper Powder
    1/3 teaspoon of Salt
     
    Vanilla Sugar Glaze
    1/4 cup of Unsalted Butter
    1 ½ cup of Confectioners Sugar
    1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
     
    Directions
    • Get one large mixing bowl and add butter in it. The butter should have been kept at room temperature, so that it would be easier to use it.
    • Add vanilla pudding and blend it well with butter
    • Add sugar and whisk it well, so that there is no lump behind.
    • Add the whole egg directly in to the wet mixture and beat it until everything is mixed in well.
    • In another medium bowl, put together all the dry ingredients one by one.
    • First of all, add the all purpose flour in to the mixing bowl.
    • Add baking powder, dry ginger powder, cinnamon powder, cardamom powder, black pepper powder, and salt in to the all purpose flour.
    • Stir all these ingredients together.
    • Add this dry mixture in to the wet mixture little by little. Keep beating this mixture until everything blends with each other.
    • When the gingerbread cookie dough is ready, divide the gingerbread cookie dough in to two equal parts and put it aside.
    • Get the plastic wrap and put those two gingerbread cookie dough pieces separately in two plastic wrap.
    • Tightly cover the plastic wrap around the gingerbread cookie dough without letting any air to go in.
    • Put it in a refrigerator to let it chill for about three to four hours.
    • Preheat the oven at 365 degree F.
    • When the gingerbread cookie dough is chilled enough, take it out and keep it aside.
    • Sprinkle some extra all purpose flour on the flat surface as well as on rolling pin to roll out the gingerbread cookie dough.
    • You can use extra all purpose flour as per your need, while rolling out the gingerbread cookie dough.
    • Keep the thickness of your gingerbread cookie dough as per your like.
    • Get the gingerbread cookie cutter to cut out the gingerbread man.
    • Dust out the edges of gingerbread cookie cutter, so that it doesn’t stick to the cookie dough.
    • Place the gingerbread cookies on the baking tray. Don’t forget to put the wax paper on top of the baking tray.
    • Bake it for about ten minutes. Lower the temperature of the oven to 350 degree F.
    • During this time, put a saucepan on a stove over high heat to prepare vanilla sugar glaze for the gingerbread cookies.
    • Add the unsalted butter and let it melt. Lower the temperature to the medium heat.
    • Add the confectioners’ sugar as well as vanilla extract. Let it cook for about five minutes. Let it cool before using it.
    • When your gingerbread cookies are baked, take it out from the oven
    • Let it cool on the cooling rack until it completely cools off.
    • Don’t apply vanilla sugar glaze on warm gingerbread cookies.
    • Apply the vanilla sugar glaze on top of the gingerbread cookies when it is cool.
    • Your gingerbread cookies are ready to serve.
