There are numerous delicious recipes. But fresh is a good choice too. Why not try using some flesh apples for a fancy autumn treat. Candy apples can be made with a hard candy shell or they can be coated in a smooth caramel coating. This recipe is for caramel apples. You have the option of topping them off with peanuts. SERVES : 6
INGREDIENTS:
6 apples
5 wooden sticks
14 oz. package of wrapped caramels
2 Tablespoons milk
1/2 cup peanuts, chopped
METHOD:
1. Wash and dry apples.
2. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray.
3. Remove the stems, and insert wooden sticks into the ends of the apples.
4. Unwrap the caramels.
5. Place caramels in a microwave bowl with the milk.
6. Microwave for a minute, stir, and microwave on more minute.
7. Stir and dip apples into the caramel mixture.
8. Cover sides with nuts.
9. Place on cookie sheet until cooled and set.
