Zoloft and Alcohol [posted 8/14/98] Question: I have only been taking zoloft for 3 days for ADD and I noticed that there was an alcohol warning on the bottle. Is it harmful to drink alcohol with this medication?
They have this listed, but I don’t know why. Many of my patients will have occasional drinks without any appreciable problem. I do not limit alcohol with this medication. You should be aware that alcohol is a depressant however. Answer: Zoloft and the like are exceptionally well tolerated with few drug interactions. However, there is no data for interaction with illicit drugs.
