Yuris Revenge was complained to have many balance issues which were never fixed, whats the plan for Generals?
The plan is “scientific balancing”. Each game played through the match making service (no matter what ladder or if not on a ladder) reports back to a special Generals server at EA Pacific. Very intricate details about the games are being sent back into the databases at EAP. These include, among others, which sides have more money in a game, how many players are playing each side, how many buildings are being built, what base defenses are being built, etc… All this information is compiled and lets the developers see how the players are using each side and they will balance each side accordingly. This system will allow for better and longer balance support, a dynamic balance support that will update as the game ages. This will work much better than just fans mouthing off about balance in official and unofficial forums. It certainly is better than having 50% of the players online complaining that Nod is better and the other 50% complaining that GDI is better, in Renegade.
