Your drawing style doesn t look exactly like the one in the series! Where did it come from?
A. To tell the truth, I m kind of glad that it doesn t look exactly like the one in the series; I guess I just wanna be different, that s all. I don t use any reference whether it be on anatomy or from the manga/anime unless I really have to; it s one of my weaknesses. My style, if I can call it that, is a sort of mishmash: a standard exaggerated anime style (a la the one in the Ranma ½ OAVs) mixed with an American comic book-y style (a la Marvel and Image). It s hard to explain. It s not even my real drawing style. I actually want to draw nostrils. Q. What do you use to make your pictures? A. I use a Pentel 0.5 mm mechanical pencil and a Mono plastic eraser for my sketches, and Adobe Photoshop CS to color them (and sometimes Adobe Illustrator 10 to make the outlines). Q.
