Your disclaimer states that “if the total contributions exceed the funding needs for a certain project, we’ll ensure the funds are reallocated to other areas where children are in need.” What does this mean?
The disclaimer has been put in because there are some items that UNICEF could potentially “run out of”. To ensure the best possible costs of the items in question, the UNICEF International Supply Division team in Europe works very hard to globally source quality items but uses economies of scale to ensure donor dollars are stretched as far as possible and the prices quoted in the catalogue are based on this sourcing process every year. Unfortunately, although Supply Division does their best to understand what the need will be for one year, it is possible that there are items that are no longer available or have run out. That being said, in 2007 there were very few items that did run out and those that did were replaced with something from the same category (i.e. dollars purchasing Water Gifts would purchase other Water items).
