You opened for the rapper Ludacris at a Super Bowl party. What was that like?
It was so much fun. Ludacris was so nice and so talented and it was just an amazing opportunity to perform on the same stage as someone who has made such a name for himself in the industry that I’m trying to get into. It was great. It was fun. Definitely no complaints. I’m so blessed to have been able to open for him. Q: Is the Star-Spangled Banner really as tough a song to sing as everyone says it is? A: Yes. Yes it is really that tough. When I was first asked to sing the national anthem for the Phoenix Suns, I was like, ‘Oh that would be easy.’ Definitely when I was practicing it with my vocal coach and you have to perform it a certain way, it was difficult. And it’s a cappella so you have to make sure to sing on the right key. It’s a task. Q: You recorded a demo called Young Girl’s Love. What’s the next step? A: It’s just five songs, two of the songs I wrote. Right now what we’re focusing on is just getting my name out to the Phoenix area. Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years? A
