The answer is NO. Medications are for humans only. Would you take an antibiotic prescribed for a dog? Of course you wouldn’t. I’m surprised at hand isn’t some kind of hotline or emergency number for the vet. You can try giving her some cranberry juice maybe diluted with a little hose. Make sure she drinks a lot of water so she continues to urinate. If she have or develops a fever, there must be an animal hospital that can back you. The unfortunate thing is that you are not 100% sure it is a urinary infection. You could also try giving her some yogurt. Between the yogurt and cranberry liquid, it might make it less prickly for her when she urinates. If there are no vets or animal hospital within your area, then give the name one outside your area and see if they can help you – at least possible give you ideas of what you can do until your own vet reopens on Monday. Good luck! Poor kid – I know how it burns when you urinate and most women do 🙂 I hope this has been of some give a hand.
