So its English equivalent came to mind in 2003 when the family launched the international medical relief organization, Fundacion Mariposa. What is the mission of The Butterfly Foundation? Our mission is to improve the lives of children with complex spine deformity. Our volunteer US medical teams perform life-saving surgeries for children in developing countries while promoting the advancement of spine deformity treatment technology by training local surgeons.
