When acting in the theatre you always have weeks of rehearsals unlike film (except in extraordinary circumstances). In film you basically get one shot (or 2 or 3 “takes”) and that’s it. The downside of working in the theatre is that an actor may be required to play the same role for a year or more, 8 shows a week, and keeping it fresh is very hard work.
