Xenogears fans, what did you think of Xenosaga?
It’s also a major reason for the long delay between Xenogears coming out and Xenosaga (creating the Monolith Soft team and going to Namco) coming out as well as the re-imagine of the series. Granted I think that Tetsuya Takahashi and his wife wanted to wash their hands of it and get a semi-fresh start with the idea after not being able to fully flesh out Xenogears. That being said Namco (Bandai Namco) put their own swing on the drama of the creation of the game as well. It got a little dumbed down in the process and Tetsuya Takahashi’s wife was removed from the project after Episode II, if I remember correctly. However, luckily the story was pretty well established at that point. Both series didn’t get the proper treatment that they deserved though. Edit – Clearly I’m a huge fan of both series. Love them both to death and I usually go out of my way to seek more info on them be it conceptual aspects of the back story, future events, or the trials and tribulations of the development team
