With XBL Gold you can play online, something with Silver you can’t unless there’s a weekend for a certain game where players with Silver can play. Unless you can live without playing online against other people, silver is for you, (it is also free). But unless you want to play against other people or with your friends and have a wider range of things to do, XBL Gold is for you.
