Wouldn the money spent on townsite salinity management be better spent elsewhere?
Salinity is recognised as one of the most urgent environmental threats facing Western Australia. Most people are aware of the impact of rising watertables and salinity on agricultural land, however many people do not realise the effect salinity can have on towns. Salinity is a critical issue in our state that must be tackled immediately. While much of the funding is going into solving problems on agricultural land, it’s also important to save rural towns, which are the hub of our rural communities.
