Wouldn it be easier and more productive to just spend the summer raising money and building houses?
It would certainly be easier, but nowhere near as productive. When the bike ride begins, we will have already raised enough money to meet our monetary goal. For the ensuing 9 weeks we concentrate on our second goal, raising awareness. We present slideshows about Habitat in the towns we stay in. We talk to residents about Habitat and why we believe so strongly in Habitat’s mission. We even take a few days off to work with volunteers on local Habitat projects, sharing information about our experiences with Habitat as well as our energy. 2006 Sponsors The Habitat Bicycle Challenge is deeply indebted to our sponsors from last year, who helped make the campaign a great success.
