Would zero population growth in the UK be a bad thing?

Population pyramids have nothing to do with population growth. Zero population growth occurs when the birth/death rate remains constant. We are currently in a transitional phase whereby we need to increase population to sustain an ageing population. That will level out within the next 30-40 years. If then we do not achieve zero population growth we will be in trouble.
