I have to admit that yes I am intimidated by groups of youths wearing hoodies hanging about. I would probably walk round them. Having worked with said “children” because that is what they are, I know first hand how devoid of conscience some of them are, so am always on my guard. The older I get the more vunerable I feel. I think anyone who thinks that by treating them with respect they get the same back is living in a bygone era. Most are OK but it is the norm for kids now to carry some form of protection and they are not mature enough to know how to back down if cornered. It makes me so sad to be writing this.
