We have every reason to thank God for this May 29, 2009. One, for an un-interrupted civilian rule in Nigeria and also ten years of democracy in Nigeria that people elected their leaders and the leaders are answerable to the electorate and as you can see physically across the country, we have achieved a civilian to civilian transition. This had been the problem of democracy in Nigeria and thank God, we have past that era. Democracy has taken root in the country. People are free and there is freedom of speech. These are some of the things that we could not enjoy during the military. Gradually, democracy is taking shape in Nigeria. There are dividends of demoicracy even though some may see it differently but from my own point of view, we have really achieved a lot in terms of infrastructures.
