Would you say that Rey Mysterio is the WWEs most consistant performer?
I don’t know that I would necessarily call Rey THE most consistent WWE performer. I think it has more to do with his in-ring style. As your father commented, “Rey’s the most fun to watch”. That’s why I love lucha more than any other style of pro wrestling. It’s just plain fun to watch. None of the luchadors “suck”; it’s lucha, they all have pretty much the same style. And that does not mean “you see one luchador you’ve seen them all”. They all have their own “style” of lucha with enough subtle differences and nuances to make them individuals. If you’re new to lucha, the first show you watch you’ll likely think “damn, it’s a whole bunch of Rey Mysterios”, but if you keep watching you’ll start noticing little things that make them different from each other. And that’s what sets Rey apart from every other WWE performer. He’s the only luchador IN the WWE.
