The 18-year-old Lee won 5 and 4 at the Pinehurst (N.C.) Resort and Country Club. Lee carded 13 birdies in 32 holes of the match, which was scheduled for 36. “It’s like I’m in dreamland,” Lee said after his win. Lee became the youngest winner of the amateur event.
