We all know that getting some fish into our diets is highly beneficial, but unfortunately you fail to mention that we’ve managed to contaminate the planet’s waters bad enough that the FDA has issued this recommendation in March of 2004 regarding the consumption of fish: Only 12 Oz. (2 meals) of low mercury fish should be consumed per week. Low mercury fish include: shrimp, crab, cod, clams, scallops, canned light tuna, canned salmon, pollock, and catfish etc. Note: Albacore “White” tuna contains more mercury. Limit 6 oz (1 meal) of albacore tuna per week. If at all possible you should consume wild salmon, as opposed to farm-raised salmon, as the latter variety has much higher levels of PCBs and mercury for some reason. All that body-building won’t mean much if you are rotting away inside from cancer or mercury poisoning.
