I wouldn’t recommend .17 HMR in any gun. I am a practical type of shooter, and the .17 is a niche round only suitable for a few things. The NEF is an excellent rifle, but your chosen caliber is not suitable for shooting many things. If you have your heart set on a .17, you couldn’t beat the NEF model.
