At times I have been asked to give opinions and sometimes defend WC cases where it is the owner who was injured. I gave a higher level of scrutiny to such cases because of the potential for fraud or at least factual manipulation. WC has 100% payment of medical bills. Profits and profit based bonuses are not part of the wage calculation, thus resulting in an insured who is a claimant who gets a much lower weekly check as compared to his pre accident earnings There are physical conditions which would be covered by a disability policy which may not be paid under a WC policy.
