Would you rather see HBK win 1 last championship or Jericho go over as a worthy title holder?
As much as I like HBK, it would be better for the brand for Chris Jericho to win and retain the title. Shawn Michaels is one of the best wrestlers of all time, but he’s injury prone and clearly at the tail end of his career. He doesn’t need another title run, it wouldn’t do anything for him or WWE. What would be best, and the most classy, thing for Michaels to do is put guys over. For example, almost over night he legitimized Lance Cade’s character by letting Cade pin him cleanly. He doesn’t have to destroy his own character, but the HBK persona is so over and so popular and credible that by letting other, lesser known guys go over on him, he could really help advance their careers and give WWE and fresh wave to top notch heels. Cade is a perfect example. He’s an extremely talented guy the company clearly wants to push, and having him get one over on HBK gives him crediblity as a real heel with the crowd. Plus, I don’t know where Shawn Michaels fits in in the companies upcoming plans.
