Would you like to be involved in establishing a commercial laundry serving the Dyfi valley?

A local hotelier has pointed out a business opportunity to ecodyfi. He and similar establishments spend a lot of money every year with laundry companies based in North Wales and Shropshire. Surely there’s a way we can stop all this money leaking out of the local economy by washing the sheets and towels locally? If one or two people wanted to create jobs for themselves by establishing a community enterprise, ecodyfi could probably source some money for a feasibility study from the WDA. This could examine issues such as premises, costs, the size of the market, management and profitability. The end result could be an independent co-operative or a subsidiary of ecodyfi. Alternatively, a local entrepreneur may just take up the idea and get on with it. Either way, transportation of laundry would be reduced. If the building and washing equipment were chosen to be very economical with water and energy use too, it would further protect the environment as well as strengthening the local economy.
