All those whom God chose to be saved were chosen by Him before creation began, let alone before they were born! That is why Jesus could pray “I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you…. Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.” (John 17) Those who have become Christians have become so because they were effectively ‘given’ to the pre-incarnate Christ before the creation of the world. God has predestined those who will be saved. So, if I was born into a Muslim family and brought up to believe the Islamic faith, I would still become a Christian if God had foreordained that I would be one of those who would be one in Christ.
