Would you agree that in the Immigration debate: Gordon Brown arrives late and offers little?
That was a very good article and perhaps shows the implosion of New Labour due to their intellectual arrogance and self belief that multiculturalism is a good thing in ideology but not as we are finding in practicalities. I read today that Brown wanted to tackle immigration on the points based system and mentioned reducing the number of professions which can recruit form outside Britain. This shows a real and serious detachment from the real Problem of immigration. Its not Professionals or Semi-Skilled immigrants that are the problem, its those that jump on the back of Lorries in France, failed asylum seekers, bogus asylum seekers, bogus colleges and students, the family sponsorship system, anyone with a soft story, the failure to deport illegal immigrants and of course binding international laws and a lapse and pathetic government who encouraged it in the first place. This system is rancid. Its too little too late.
