I dye my hair all the time from store kits. The only thing you should watch out for is your hair turning reddy orange. My hair turned a browny blonde after I dyed it. Then 4 weeks later, after my roots grew out, I dyed it again. And it got lighter. It’s continued to increase in lightness and is now an extremely light blonde. I think you should start lightening it gradually and work your way up to an ultra light natural blonde or something like that! By the next shade up from your natural hair color now and see how that turns out, if it looks like a tinge of orange, than you know not to do a durastic change and bleach it or something. Also, please stay away from bleach, it just causes breakage and the color usually doesn’t turn how you’d like it!

No don’t do it at home as it is hard to get brown hair blonde due to having so many red tomes in brown hair, your hair will probably go orangy rather than blonde and you’ll have to pay out for a trip to the hairdresser’s to sort it out. So you might as well save yourself the hassle and get it done professionally. Why not check out your local college, see if they have a training salon as they are supervised, to avoid mistakes and it’ll save you money too.
